My Story

I’m a high school science teacher, Teacher Cadet instructor, and lifelong learner who is passionate about helping both students and educators grow. As I enter my sixth year in education, I’ve had the privilege of teaching diverse learners, designing engaging project-based learning experiences, and helping future educators discover their own passion for teaching.

I’m currently just six months away from earning my Ed.D. in Educational Innovation and Practice from the University of South Carolina—Go Cocks! My doctoral research focuses on innovative instructional practices, student engagement, and developing the skills students need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

RootedIntoGrowth was originally created by my best friend, Olivia, and me to share SEL resources with middle and secondary educators. Due to changes in our career focuses, I’ve brought RootedIntoGrowth back to share practical, classroom-tested resources and strategies to support teachers at every stage of their journey. Whether you’re navigating your first year in the classroom, looking for organizational systems that actually work, refining your classroom management approach, or helping students develop essential soft skills like communication, collaboration, and self-confidence, you’ll find tools and ideas here designed for real classrooms and real teachers.

Teaching is one of the most rewarding (and challenging) professions. My goal is to make your journey a little easier by sharing lessons learned, resources I’ve created, and strategies that have helped me and my students succeed.

I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s grow together!
